Throughout the United States, the
state of Washington produces the second largest quantity of wine. This is clearly due to the unique weather
condition that prevails in this part of the United States. The winter is considerably wet and cold while the summer is considerable sunny and
warm. The state of California actually stands in the first position among the
states producing wine across the country. Every year, up to 129,000 tons of
wine gets brewed in the state of Washington. This enormous production can only be credited to Washington Wineries. Over the years, these wineries have been able
to take their business to the very next level and have produced some of the
best wines in the United States in terms of quantity and quality.

Washington Wineries started from very humble beginning. In times
past, they had to depend on very crude and local machineries to brew wine. But
they have grown over the years to become the leading wine producing companies
across the United States; thanks in part to technological advancement wave that
swept across every field of human endeavor. The resilience and doggedness of
the wineries also contributes a great deal to the pinnacle occupied by the
wineries today. Wine production in the United
States actually started in the 19th
century; some at the early part and some other ones at the later part of the 19th
century. The state of Washington however did not start with the others.
Wine production could not actually begin
in the Washington State until the later part of the 1970s. The actual wine
production in the state was started by some professors. They were responsible for establishing the
very first sets of Washington Wineries. They
began their journey with wine production domination by first building Washington Vineyard. Other wine lovers
caught the fever of wine production and started
building wineries across the state of
Washington. It was a question of time before wines of all sorts made in
Washington were available in wine stores for sale. Example of the early brews
of wine that first made their ways to the
shelves was Chardonnays and Rieslings. These are white and real sweet types of
wine.
Though, wine production started
later in the state of Washington than in other states, many of the Washington Wineries have successfully
overtaken a lot of other wineries located in other countries aside the state of California.
If the truth must be told, the fame and popularity of wines produced in
Washington have gone beyond the shores of the United States and they are now
well acceptable in other parts of the world. In actual fact, wines made in
Washington are top among lots of other excellent
wines across the world.
Due to the enormous size of many Washington Wineries and the considerable
amount of yearly production, the wine industry in the United States is
contributing significantly to the
country’s economy. The wine industry in the state of Washington and the United
States as a whole is undoubtedly a multi-billion dollar investment. The
industry is equally experiencing expansion each year.
